The AstroLingo website

Website privacy policy

This policy explains how astrolingoapp.com handles visitor data: browsing, cookies, analytics and email requests. It is separate from the mobile app’s privacy policy.

1. Who is responsible for this website?

The AstroLingo website is operated by Gabriel Naulleau, the controller responsible for the processing described here. For privacy questions or requests about your data, contact support@freeastroapi.com.

2. What we process and why

  • Website delivery. Our hosting provider receives technical information needed to serve and protect the website: IP address, requested URL, date and time, browser and device information, and error and security logs. We rely on our legitimate interest in providing a reliable, secure website.
  • Cookie choices. We use the country estimated by our host from your IP address to determine whether to display the EU consent prompt. We do not request your GPS location. Your choice and its date are stored in your browser so we can respect your preference.
  • Optional analytics. When enabled, Google Analytics measures visits, page views and interactions such as App Store link clicks. It processes browser identifiers and technical information about devices, browsers, visit sources and approximate location. In the European Union, this processing requires your consent.
  • Support messages. When you email us, we process your email address, the information you provide and the correspondence needed to respond. Depending on your request, this processing provides the support you requested or relies on our legitimate interest in answering questions and resolving problems.
  • Android release requests. If you ask to be notified, we use your email address for that announcement, based on your request and consent. You can withdraw your request by contacting us.

3. Cookies and your choices

For visits identified as coming from the 27 European Union countries, Google Analytics stays blocked until you accept. Rejecting analytics does not restrict access to the website. Outside the European Union, analytics may start automatically; you can still turn it off at any time. If we cannot determine the country, analytics stays off unless you allow it.

Accept and Reject apply only to analytics. They do not authorize advertising tracking. We do not currently load a Meta Pixel on the public pages. Google Signals and advertising personalization are disabled in our tag configuration.

Use to accept, reject or withdraw your permission. Withdrawal removes accessible Google Analytics cookies on our domain and disables future collection. It does not undo processing that has already taken place.

  • Your choice: stored in your browser’s local storage for 180 days. We may ask again after it expires, after you clear browser data, or after a policy change that requires fresh consent.
  • Google Analytics cookies: cookies starting with _ga distinguish visits and sessions. Their lifetime is configured to 180 days without automatically extending it on each visit.
  • Android notice dismissal: a local preference stops a notice you closed from appearing again. It remains until you clear this website’s browser data.

These preferences apply to this browser. They do not change privacy settings in the mobile app. If your browser blocks local storage, your choice can only be remembered for the current visit.

4. Email and Android notifications

By selecting “Notify me”, you ask to receive an email when the Android app becomes available. The form stores your email address, selected language, request date and consent-text version. It shows a confirmation only after the server confirms that the request was saved. No email is sent when you submit the form.

We use your address for the Android announcement you requested, without automatically subscribing you to a newsletter. You can withdraw your request by emailing support@freeastroapi.com. A pseudonymous technical identifier counts requests to limit abuse; raw IP addresses are not stored in the Android list. Support correspondence and the Android announcement are handled by the relevant email providers.

5. Service providers and international transfers

Vercel hosts and delivers this website and provides its technical and security functions. Supabase stores Android release-notification requests. Google provides analytics when enabled. Our email providers process correspondence you send us. Access is limited to people and providers who need the information for these purposes; we do not sell your personal data.

These services may process data outside your country, including in the United States. Applicable transfer terms and safeguards depend on the provider and service: adequacy decisions where applicable, standard contractual clauses and supplementary measures. You can contact us for information about the safeguards applicable to your data.

Read the privacy information from Vercel, Supabase and Google for sites using its services.

6. How long information is kept

Browser storage periods are listed above. Our host retains technical data according to operational, diagnostic and security needs and the service settings. Data received by Google Analytics is subject to our Analytics property’s retention settings; statistical reports may have a different lifetime from cookies. Deleting a cookie does not by itself delete information already received by these providers.

We keep support correspondence while handling the request and its follow-up, then for as long as necessary to resolve a dispute or meet a legal obligation. Android notification requests are kept until withdrawn or until the announcement and necessary follow-up are complete, then deleted. They are not intended as a permanent marketing list. Contact us to remove your request or ask about its retention.

7. Your rights

Depending on applicable law, you can request access, correction, deletion, restriction or portability of your personal data, and object to processing based on legitimate interests. Where processing relies on consent, you can withdraw it at any time. Email support@freeastroapi.com. We may ask for the minimum information needed to verify your identity.

For requests covered by the GDPR, we normally respond within one month. If an allowed extension is necessary, we will let you know. You can also complain to the CNIL or your competent data protection authority.

8. The app, App Store and other websites

This policy covers the public marketing website, Android notification requests and support emails. App accounts, birth charts, lessons, purchases and mobile notifications are covered by the separate app privacy policy. When you leave this website for the App Store or another website, that service’s policies apply.

9. Updates to this policy

Last updated: September 10, 2026. We update this policy when the website’s processing changes. If a new purpose requires your consent, we will ask before enabling it.
